The Council of Europe met outside its Strasbourg seat for the first time in Naples at the Fondazione Mediterraneo and the Maison des Alliances.
The Secretary General, Walter Schwimmer, the Vice President of the Council of Europe, Claudio Azzolini and the President of the chamber of Deputies (the Italian lower house of parliament) Pierferdinando Casini
inaugurate the working sessions and the Maison des Alliances offers a cake inscribed with the logo of Europe.
